June Luxe Review: Anzula

For our latest Yarnbox Luxe offering, we’re traveling back in time to draw inspiration from the mid-nineteenth century British Empire, full of technological innovation, bright new colors and rich textures of imported fabrics. Like a visitor to the Great Exhibition, we hope you discover something new and awe inspiring to bring a bit of luxury into your life.

This month, we welcome Anzula Luxury Fibers, a California-based company specializing in the finest yarns hand-dyed in a rainbow of semi-solid colors. Each box includes three skeins of their DK weight yarn Croquet, a slinky smooth blend of 50% merino wool and 50% tussah silk. With generous 114 gram skeins, you’ll have 690 yards total for your project.

Left to Right: (Muted) Madam, Nimbus, (Bright) Mariana, Violet

We’re featuring two beautiful designs to showcase your yarn at its best! Knit designer Afifa Sayeed created the ‘It’s Alright Shawl’, a giant, cozy design featuring dropped stitch details among a garter body, finished off with a fringed edge.

Melissa Leapman designed the ‘Croquet Shawl’, an asymmetrical design with a classic double crochet pattern and picot edging.

To finish your project to perfection, we’ve included a ruler for checking gauge and a teapot measuring tape to help you block your completed piece. For a final personal treat, use the included unscented lotion bars from Love + Leche to keep your hands soft and smooth while you work with any delicate yarn project.
