For this month I took a classic argyle design and used the colors to give it some flair.
Lets take a moment to talk about the yarnYarn used for this project is from Big Bad Wool - Pea Weepaca in Night Owl, Leaf, Minty, Girly Girl, and Tree Frog. The pattern uses 130 yards of each color with enough left for a hat. This yarn is a wonderful blend of 50% Fine Merino wool and 50% Baby Alpaca. The final product is a soft yet warm scarf.
120 Peg ¼ Gauge Narrow Scarf Loom from CinDWoodLooms . The narrow spacing between the pegs allow you to get wonderful detail with this DK weight yarn.
The pattern uses a double knitting technique to create a double sided fabric where the back is a negative of the front. It is a simple 11 row repeat for the entire project. As with many of my patterns there is a beginning to end video, full PDF with photos, graph, and written directions, and individual video clips for help with specific parts without having to search through the video, there is also the addition of QR codes for quick access on the go . The skill level is intermediate but I do feel this is a pattern anyone can do as long as you follow the chart.
This was a fun project to design and work on with the final product being a scarf over 8 feet long and 6 inches wide. Plenty of yarn left to make the scarf at least another foot longer too.
