May Socks Review: Backyard Fiberworks

We love visiting shows, talking to dyers and discovering indie brands to share with our subscribers. At this winter's Vogue Knitting Live, we met Alice O'Reilly, the creator behind Backyard Fiberworks. What started as an experiment in hand dyeing yarn in a pot in the backyard, she discovered a passion for playing with color and has perfected a line of rich and complex colors on the most luscious bases.

Meadow Light is a fingering weight blend of 80% merino, 10% nylon and 10% cashmere. This plump spin is extremely soft with a smooth finish, perfect for an extra special pair of socks!

Top: Pollen, Deep Creek, Arbol
Bottom: Oxblood, Rainwater, Ume

Designer Pam Sluter joined us this month with 'Early Bloom'. This cuff-down design with a short row heel is inspired by the colors of early spring flowers. It features waves of lacy accents along the leg and instep.

Total Value Of This Box: $30
Backyard Fiberworks Meadow Light $26
